POLICE investigating possible crocodile attack in far north Queensland

POLICE are investigating a possible crocodile attack in far north Queensland after concerns about a missing fisherman.

Officers are en-route to a site where fishing equipment has been found on a riverbank, but with no sign of the fisherman.

The area is a known crocodile habitat, but a police spokeswoman said details were still sketchy.
In the last near-fatal attack, Todd Bairstow, was lucky to survive after he was trapped in the jaws of a crocodile in March 2011.
