Another Hendra case 'Bat Virus' confirmed near Gold Coast

BioSecurity Queensland has confirmed another case of Hendra virus in the Gold Coast hinterland.

An unvaccinated horse was put down on the property on Friday after becoming unwell on Thursday.
Tests confirmed it had the virus, which is carried by bats.

Meanwhile, seven people who came in contact with the horse were nervously awaiting the results of tests to see if they, too, may have contracted the virus.
