Getting mastectomy doesn't make me brave, says Mandy Squires

I am getting better at May. The last two years I have found the month's fuchsia hue a little hard to take. The sea of pink ribbons, pink buns and pink paper dollies has got me down.So too, have the inevitable tales of "bravery", and stories of long years of "battle" which have ended in defeat. I have hated the newspaper and magazine stories of motherless children and grieving husbands. Of women who died young and families left behind. In May, breast cancer is everywhere. Even before the momentous AHAB (Angelina-had-a-bilateral) announcement this week.

Getting mastectomy doesn't make me brave, says Mandy Squires | News.com.au
